Your story
+Each language has a world of its own, and translation introduces your product, your service, your message – your story – to a whole new market and audience.
My love of the
written word
+
Translation is where I found my calling. It is a profession where I can combine the two different strands of my training – first in music, then in finance – with my life-long love of the written word.
For translations that read
like an original
+
After 13 years as a translator, I am still fascinated by the mix of discipline and creativity required to transform German texts into natural English – by the challenge of making your translation read like an original.

Precision and flair
-
Translation is a delicate balancing act between precision and flair – translating as closely and as naturally as possible.
It is a fine line that combines an eagle eye for terminology and detail with a perfect ear for the target language, its rhythms and cadence, its idioms and idiosyncrasies.
Whether the purpose of your text is to inform, instruct, persuade or inspire, I find translation solutions that respect the content and the tone of your writing while communicating your message in smooth and natural English.

My path to translation
Born in Australia to English parents, I grew up in the sunny plains of rural New South Wales before studying French horn at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney.
After relocating to Switzerland in 2000, I found a new footing in the financial sector and completed further education in finance in 2006 and in translation in 2009. I then worked for six years as an in-house translator at a Swiss private bank, the last two as head of language services.
After a further two years as a staff translator at the University of Zurich, I opened my freelance translation business. Today, I enjoy working for a mix of businesses as well as public, educational and cultural institutions.
